Earls students take part in project pancake. Earls students take part in project pancake.

Pancake TV aims to bring activities inside and outside of school to a wide audience of students via a school website www.pancaketv.com. Pancake has been taken on by Earls students with the purpose of showcasing school activities, and hidden talents, through Pancake TV. Examples of activities covered are the Gym and Dance Show. Outside school pupils have covered Rock the Castle, a school’s rock festival, including interviews with Earls band’s Highway and Atom, and the visit to BBC Midlands Today where pupils had an exclusive interview with newsreader Nick Owen, and met Suzanne Virdee and Shefali Oza.

Pancake has been represented at a Head teachers Conference as well as in the process of the trust built between the Schools in the Dudley Borough. Members of the Pancake team, have had the opportunity to learn lots of media aspects including camera, sound and interviewing techniques with help from Trilby Multimedia and support from Creative Partnerships. Pupils said "Not only have we gained confidence and skills in media and performing arts throughout the ongoing project, but we hope to have boosted the confidence and recognized talents of students at Earls High School." Pupils are now in the process of introducing Pancake TV to students in local primary schools to encourage them to record and celebrate their activities and achievements.
