Trinity@home Project - Trinity CE Primary School, Wolverhampton

The Trinity @ Home Project The Trinity @ Home Project

Our Creative Partnerships project this year is called Trinity@home. The idea came from someone saying “I would like to take school home with me”.

We are changing our website so school is more accessible at home and you can show your parents what you have been doing. We will also download and upload podcasts and videos to watch at home. The website will have a new look and will sit within the Engage portal for Wolverhampton. We are the first Primary School in the country to do this.

At school we use Espresso. It is a great educational website which supports our learning with newsbites, science, maths and lots of other subjects on it. On Espresso we watch ‘newsbites’ presented by Olivia. As part of the project, we want to interview famous people and then put these podcasts on our website. We asked all the pupils in our school which famous people they want to interview and we have a very long list. Someone suggested Olivia and she came to school to be interviewed. We are the first school she has visited. We were really excited and it was wonderful to meet her. Year 2, 4 and 5 are preparing Creative Partnerships films about Our School, The Environment and WWII. Olivia is going to provide the ‘voice-over’. The films will then go on the Espresso and Trinity websites. Year 6 began interviewing famous people this week when the English Touring Opera visited our school with a Greek opera.

So that we can make our pod-casts, the caretaker has built special cupboards for the instruments and we are changing the music store cupboard into a media centre. Year 3 are designing it.

We are all really excited about the Trinity@home projects. “I wish I was in Year 4, I don’t want to leave.” Eric. “I was so excited when I was picked to be on the Creative Partnerships planning team. All our ideas are listened to… You think that it will never happen, but it does!” Alix
