The Customs House - North & South Tyneside

The Customs House Arts Centre is an independent arts trust based in South Shields on the bank on the River Tyne. It houses two theatre spaces which accommodates film & cinema together with The Sandford Goudie Gallery.

As a venue (theatre, gallery, cinema & cultural development programme) we have a broad and strong cultural offer that adds value and complements local authority programmes and community strategies to maximize the strategic relevance of our programmes.

We aim to highlight the relevance and benefit creativity has for children, young people adults and local communities. In addition to this experience and knowledge, The Customs House is also and has been for sometime an Arts Council England RFO. Our cultural development programme incorporates the Arts in Education Agency for North & South Tyneside, Creative Partnerships and being a Find Your Talent Pathfinder.
